Role: Junior Backend Software Engineer
Kayhan is building cloud-first solutions that provide mission-critical spaceflight safety services to satellite operators. Kayhan is seeking a Junior Backend Software Engineer to collaboratively develop the next generation of space traffic coordination systems.

Role Responsibilities
- Assist in developing world-class SaaS services bringing space traffic coordination and spaceflight safety services to market
- Collaborate with senior engineers and domain experts to design and implement algorithms
- Participate in the software design lifecycle, contributing to proof of concept product development
- Support the innovation and iteration process by incorporating feedback
- Learn and apply API-first approaches to building software applications
- Engage in a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Contribute to a positive engineering culture by participating in team activities and discussions
About You
You have a strong foundation in computer science principles and are excited to apply your knowledge to real-world problems. You are a quick learner who is open to feedback and eager to develop your skills. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others and contributing to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development & Kanban methodologies
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing, preferably AWS (internships or academic projects acceptable)
- Proficiency in Python and exposure to at least one system-level programming language (C, C++, Rust)
- Understanding of software containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes preferred)
- Basic knowledge of software test methodologies
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment
Job Location
Compensation
- Total compensation for this role is base salary + company equity
- Colorado base salary range: $80-130k
