As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Home Lending group, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Oversees decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists to include hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Expertise in working in in large, diverse, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Understanding of the end-to-end technology process, including product strategy development, customer engagement, architecture design, engineering, implementation, and operations
- Hands on development experience with modern UI programming frameworks, specifically ReactJS or Angular
- Practical experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Understanding of modern Cloud CI/CD processes, tools, technologies, and best practices, event driven architecture and Micro services / APIs
- Experience with relational and noSQL datbases and data lake.
- Experience owning the technology portion of a product as a Technology Partner or equivalent
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS experience & certification
- Java experience is a nice to have
- Experience managing managers
