As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the CORPORATION OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNANCE TECHNOLOGY Team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose architecture approaches to meet current and future needs.
- Defines the architecture target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy.
- Executes creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years development experience in Java / J2EE Web application design and development.
- Experience with Spring MVC and Spring BOOT Framework.
- Development experience using UI Technologies - HTML, VTL, XSL, JavaScript, AJAX, Angular JS, React, Bootstrap.
- In-depth knowledge in Big Data Technologies including - Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hbase, Impala, Restful services.
- Experience leading technology projects.
- Experience managing technologists.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Knowledge of cloud based technologies – AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud
- Platform are an added advantage
- Prior experience with Regulatory and Compliance applications is desirable
- Debugging, profiling and tuning applications’ performance
