We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Manager to join our district's Technology Team. The ideal candidate will design, install, maintain, monitor, and evaluate the district’s network infrastructure, including voice, video, and data networks. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in network administration or engineering, with a demonstrated ability to maintain network security and reliability in an educational environment. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to ensure minimal disruption to users during maintenance or upgrades.
Responsibilities:
The Network Administrator will be responsible for the following key areas, among others:
Network Infrastructure and Systems Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor:
- Routers
- Cisco firewalls (including Firepower 4110)
- Cisco and Meraki core and edge switches
- Meraki wireless access points
- VPN management and security
- VLAN and subnet management
- Cisco phone systems
- Web filtering solutions
- Camera systems and security appliances
- Implement network design and oversee internet connectivity performance.
- Maintain configuration backups and simulate restorations to ensure readiness for disaster recovery scenarios.
- Ensure regular threat definition / VDB updates on firewall, and perform recommended OS updates throughout the lifecycle of the appliance.
- Monitor bandwidth utilization, DHCP pool utilization, TCP / UDP connections to public IP address pools.
Switch and Wireless Management
- Perform regular switch configuration backups and update switch IOS as needed.
- Troubleshooting switching and routing issues: OSPF adjacencies, MST / Spanning Tree, Transceivers (SFPs), fiber patch cables and uplinks, VLANs and network segmentation
- Configure and maintain wireless SSIDs for optimized connectivity, troubleshoot authentication issues (802.1x, captive portal, walled garden).
Media and Broadcast Systems Support
Provide support for:
- TelVue Infovue, Telecast 2, and Hypercaster devices, for cable television broadcast and website media player (VTN).
- Audio-visual setup, recording, support for live events, concerts, and Board of Education meetings (sound reinforcement and recording, camera operation, live video production and livestreaming to SBHS VTN YouTube channel).
- Video editing and production of content for VTN.
- Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Administrator or Engineer, with proven expertise in managing complex network systems.
- Hands-on experience with Firepower Management Center, Meraki Dashboard, and other advanced networking technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with both Cisco-proprietary and industry standard protocols like TCP/IP, STP, OSPF, LACP, SNMP.
- Knowledge of integrating and optimizing VLANs, subnets, and WAN links.
