SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Security and Surveillance is responsible for providing order and protection to all guests, team members, property and assets; managing casino surveillance activities to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the Lottery Commission, ensuring guests are not engaged in illegal activities and ensuring hard/soft count operations are conducted in accordance with all applicable policies and regulations. This position will ensure that all potential violations of regulations are investigated, corrective actions are taken to ensure the ongoing safety and security of all guests and team members, as well as the safeguarding of company assets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Provide exceptional Guest service while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Support and motivate Team Members while ensuring team responsibilities are performed according to established departmental standards.
- Maintain and update policies and standard operating procedures related to emergency protocol, including evacuations, shelter-in-place, and handling of illegal substances.
- Direct and monitor the security and safety of the properties, Guests, and Team Members.
- Conduct and review security investigations concerning all incidents and issues on property, making necessary reports and notifying the Lottery Commission and local law enforcement as needed.
- Review all security reports for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery, including end-of-shift and exclusion reports.
- Provide oversight and assist in training for emergency response procedures, including fires, bomb threats, power outages, and other potential emergencies.
- Responsible for the Surveillance Department at Beach Club Casino, Lilac Casino and any offsite locations, if applicable.
- Possesses and maintains excellent working knowledge of all casino games, accounting, internal control procedures, and state regulations.
- Cooperates with but performs independently of all other departments.
- Oversees all maintenance, additions, and repairs of Surveillance system.
- Notifies the appropriate parties upon the detection of cheating, theft, embezzlement, or other illegal activities or violations.
- Develops reporting and monitoring systems to accomplish objectives, maintain control of assets and fulfills regulatory compliance.
- Prepares operating budgets, monitor budgetary compliance and act on budget variance items.
- Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, and managing staff to ensure that team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
- Researches, evaluates, and tests latest technology in surveillance to develop most appropriate system to achieve security, effectiveness, and cost efficiency objectives.
- Coordinates surveillance investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to ensure proper handling of criminal violations of team members and guests; may occasionally appear in court in criminal or civil justice proceedings.
- Communicates and develops business relations with the Lottery Commission to stay abreast of regulations and practices.
- Makes recommendations in the development of gaming procedures to ensure that management takes into consideration the enforceability of such procedures from a surveillance perspective.
- Promotes positive public and team member relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business or a closely related field preferred.
- 7 years of surveillance experience in a hotel or gaming environment, with 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient with Google Office Suite or related software.
- Previous experience with Security System Installations preferred.
- Knowledge of all table games operations required.
- Knowledge of HHR machine usage and operation required.
- Understanding of low voltage equipment and low voltage wire/termination of systems regularly used in Security Camera Systems, Access control Systems and Alarm Systems.
- Must have 20/20 corrected vision.
