Job Description: SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The SCDHHS Bureau of Medicaid Systems requires a system administrator to configure, enhance, and operate the SCDHHS Data Operations Hub (DOH). The DOH is a system which facilitates the recurring ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery of data to support operational monitoring and reporting. In its current state, the DOH is built on Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, SQL Server) with custom-developed executables facilitating data ingestion from multiple systems in various formats, and data delivery via multiple modalities including SharePoint, SFTP, email, and filesystem.
This position would serve as the DOH engineer and tasks would include, implementation of proper operational support processes, monitoring, failure/incident response, etc.
Primary Objectives
- Perform day-to-day configuration and support of the Data Operations Hub system and components.
- Monitor and respond to incoming requests for new data inputs/outputs, access, configuration, etc.
- Develop, document, and follow standard processes, procedures, runbooks, etc. for operating the system, including change and incident management.
- Facilitate regular security patching and upgrades of components, working with Infrastructure teams as necessary.
Objectives To Be Fulfilled By Candidate

- Complete the “lift and shift” of the existing DOH implementation from its existing data center to a new data center, and contribute to the implementation of proper operational support processes, monitoring, failure/incident response, etc.
- Perform day-to-day configuration and support of the Data Operations Hub system and components.
- Build CI/CD pipelines on Windows platforms
- Manage Windows application environments.
- Monitor and respond to incoming requests for new data inputs/outputs, access, configuration, etc.
- Facilitate regular security patching and upgrades of components, working with Infrastructure teams as necessary.
Required Skills (rank In Order Of Importance)
- Windows Server administration
- Knowledge of system administration concepts – security, networking, application configuration, patching/updating
Preferred Skills (rank In Order Of Importance)
- Experience documenting processes and procedures, runbooks, etc.
- Experience configuring products based on a business requirements document
- Experience with application monitoring and alerting
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Equivalent (4 years) related experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Required Certifications
No certification is required, however, relevant Microsoft certifications are preferred.
