Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader—a true "Sales Unicorn"—to shape our sales strategy, build a high-performing sales team, and cultivate a sales ethos that drives growth across our customer base and sales channels. As the Chief Sales and Business Development Officer (CSBDO), you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our sales and business development strategy, identifying new market opportunities, driving revenue growth, and managing key client relationships. Based in our NYC office, you will lead and develop the sales team to ensure alignment with the company's goals and objectives and leverage your deep relationships within the NY wine market to expand our presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue growth and market expansion.
- Lead and mentor the sales teams to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Help establish and grow our business development ethos as well as help grow sales channels and potential partnerships
- Identify new market opportunities, set strategic partnerships, and foster relationships with potential clients and stakeholders.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform the sales approach and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing and product development, to align strategies that enhance sales efforts.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and analytics to executive leadership.
- Establish strong relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction, retention, and further growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking activities to elevate the brand presence
Requirements
- Based full time in NYC - remote applicants will not be accepted at this time
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset
- Past startup experience a huge plus
- Relationships within the NY Wine Business with the ability to grow customer base
- Must be deeply knowledgeable of wine and the overall wine market - experience with spirits is a plus but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, with at least 10 years in sales and business development.
- Strong track record of successfully driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships at all levels.
