As we continuously drive for growth and plan to expand our market presence in North America, we are looking for a highly driven and achievement-orientated Commercial Director to lead our team and our efforts in the region.
The Role
Based in New York, the Commercial Director will play a crucial role in driving sales and in-market activation including, but not limited to, marketing and local partner initiatives. This newly created position reflects our growth ambitions and need for a visionary and disciplined leader who can integrate and elevate our commercial strategies in NA.
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire North American market. This entails a wide array of domains spanning from managing strategic reseller partnerships (B2B2B, B2B2C), deeply engaged into and driving B2B sales first-hand, overall responsible for local marketing initiatives as well as in-market activations with strategic partners such as camera manufactures, associations and schools.
The role is reporting to the Senior Director Business Development & Partnerships based out of Copenhagen, and you will lead a team of three direct reports and work closely with cross-functional teams primarily based out of Europe.
What You'll Do
- Growth & Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement and execute commercial strategies to drive ARR growth and market penetration across North America. Analyzing the market and identify growth opportunities. Develop go-to-market strategies, including regional targeting and customer segmentation across both enterprise (B2B) and individual freelance photographers (B2C) customers
- Partnership Management: Build and maintain long-term, value-creating relationships with key B2B and B2C resellers to drive ARR and customer acquisition, while ensuring high levels of partner and customer satisfaction
- Marketing Activation: Overall responsible for the local marketing initiatives archives awareness and ROI ambitions. This includes but is not limited to close collaboration for developing joint marketing plans with resellers that bring Capture One to the forefront of in-store and digital presence. This also covers being in close sync with how alike activations are executed across regions outside NA
- Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and mentor the US sales and marketing team. Set performance targets and manage key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Reporting & Analytics:Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and other critical metrics. Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as necessary
- Insight Sharing: Work closely with the senior leadership team, providing strategic insights and feedback to inform broader business decisions and initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Proven Sales Experience: Extensive experience in sales and account management, with a track record of exceeding targets. This both encompasses the ability to successfully build and manage commercially viable partnerships and driving B2B sales from A-Z
- Marketing Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective marketing strategies targeting B2B as well as B2C customers embedding ROI considerations
- International Exposure: Experience working in international settings and with scale ups, preferably within SAAS
- In-market leadership: Experience building and developing high performance commercial teams within US
- Adaptability: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive approach to taking and applying feedback for continuous improvement
- Technological Proficiency: Skilled in using various tools and technologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity, i.e. HubSpot as the CRM tool applied
- Collaboration: Enjoyment of working in diverse, hybrid teams across different time zones, with a pronounced commitment to building relationships while driving results
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with photography is advantageous but not essential
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel 20-30% during peak periods

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $140,000.00 - $190,000.00, inclusive of commission.
