The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in Washington, D.C., seeks a Senior IT Administrator who will be responsible for supporting our network systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in network administration and a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and security practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing 365 migration
- Oversee network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Diagnose and resolve network and user issues; document for future use
- Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure uptime and best performance
- Assist in migration managing software and hardware (servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices), including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Monitor the ticketing system by responding to user requests
- Assist in documenting configurations and procedures for future reference
- Assist in regular patching and firmware updates on all network equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
- Assist with active directory – adding users, unlocking accounts
- Support Exchange 2016 email environment; assist with migration to 365
- Support SharePoint 2013; assist with migration to 365
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience with a history of progressive achievement and advancement in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an IT Director, Administrator, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, virtualization, and storage technologies
- Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) installation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in hardware management, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Non-profit experience a plus
This position is at FAIR’s Washington, DC headquarters. The position is exempt, full-time.
Hybrid Schedule: In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Telework Monday and Friday.
