Position Overview:
NomadX is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead our scientific research and development efforts. The CSO will shape the company's scientific strategy, drive innovation, and oversee research operations. This position requires a leader with a distinguished track record, a passion for advancing biological science, and exceptional management and strategy expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall scientific research and development effort. Experience with infectious disease is a plus.
- Develop and execute long-term scientific strategies.
- Foster a collaborative research environment that encourages innovation and knowledge-sharing across teams.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including academic partners, industry collaborators, and regulatory bodies, to further NomadX’s scientific and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines for scientific research.
- Act as a spokesperson for NomadX in scientific forums, conferences, and industry events.
- Mentor and develop junior scientists and research staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Support business development, fundraising, and grant applications by providing scientific expertise and insights.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biological Sciences.
- 15+ years of experience.
- A proven track record of success in industry.
- Deep expertise in biological sciences with experience in product development.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with experience overseeing research teams and projects.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to scientific research and product development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts to non-scientific stakeholders.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, and business teams.
- Experience with the FDA and/or USDA is a plus.
- Familiarity with viral and bacterial detection technologies a plus.
