Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly skilled Cards Product Owner with expertise in credit card systems and practical experience in implementing Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) standards.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit card operations, including issuance, processing, and settlement, and will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing card-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Domain Expertise:
- Provide expert knowledge in credit card systems, including credit, debit, prepaid cards, Onboarding, Account opening, Authorization, A/R receivables processing, A/C Payables, Collections
- Offer insights into industry trends, regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, EMV standards), and emerging technologies (e.g., contactless payments, digital wallets).
BIAN Awareness and Service Domains knowledge
- Lead the implementation of BIAN standards within credit card systems.
- Ensure alignment of card product development and integration with BIAN frameworks.
Product Development:
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and IT teams to design and develop innovative card solutions.
- Advise on card product configurations, features, and integration with existing banking/payment systems.
Process Optimization:
- Enhance card issuance, processing, dispute resolution, authorization, and settlement processes.
- Identify and implement improvements in card transaction workflows and suggest automation solutions.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure card products comply with local and international regulations (e.g., PCI compliance, fraud detection, KYC, AML).
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to mitigate fraud, security breaches, and data compromise.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and mentorship to internal teams on card-related processes and best practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex card-related issues, including chargebacks, fraud detection, and technical challenges.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with external partners, vendors, and payment networks (Visa, Client, etc.) to ensure seamless product integration and compliance.
- Report on card program performance and improvements to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in the card’s domain (credit, debit, prepaid) within financial services or fintech.
- Proven track record in card product development, transaction processing, and operational management.
- Practical experience in implementing BIAN standards.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of card processing systems, including authorization, clearing, and settlement.
- Familiarity with ISO 8583 messaging, EMV standards, and PCI DSS compliance.
- Knowledge of fraud detection techniques, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in payment gateway integration, acquiring/issuing processes, and reconciliation.
- In-depth understanding of BIAN standards and their application in card product development and integration.
Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with emerging payment technologies such as mobile payments, tokenization, and blockchain.
- Previous involvement in digital transformation projects in the financial industry.
- Understanding of global card schemes and regional payment networks.
