Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Administer and support the operations, maintenance, and overall health of the core financial banking systems including Linux, Windows, and Oracle systems. Ensure that infrastructure meets immediate and future business needs and adheres to business continuity and regulatory requirements. Install, configure, and manage financial systems infrastructure.
Essential Job Functions - Serve as Tier 2 Administrator for all core-related financial systems including physical and virtual servers.
- Assist with Oracle database administration.
- Observe environment health and performance metrics in real-time and take corrective actions to ensure system stability and availability.
- Ensure all system utilization and performance metrics are properly logged and available for analysis.
- Perform regular system audits and analysis to determine performance trends, compute capacity, and compliance.
- Analyze logs, system alerts, and alerts for backup, replication, and archival processes to ensure availability, data integrity, and compliance with enterprise business continuity plan.
- Responsible for financial systems integrity and performance by working with business partner support organizations to quickly address concerns.
- Maintain processing systems and efficiency through continual system improvements.
- Maintain financial connectivity to third party partners and services ensuring uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues for all managed systems.
- Responsible for the security of the core financial system servers. Working with the IT Cyber Security team to ensure all discovered risks are promptly addressed and documented.
- Build and manage development environments and their communications to all necessary auxiliary systems.
- Create and maintain system(s) access accounts following procedures.
- Work with IT Identity Access Management Administrator to ensure access alignment.
- Follow proper change management procedures for all system changes.
- Coordinate software and system changes with project management, business application analyst, and other necessary credit union staff.
- Implement and manage deployment schedules for new operating systems and applications as well as all required patches and updates.
- Develop standard operating plans and procedures for the security, maintenance, installation, and deployment of all managed systems.
- Develop, update, and exercise system business continuity plan to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and credit union policy.
- Provide training and instruction to other team members on how to implement these operating plans and procedures.
- Create and maintain system design documentation.
- Tier 2 support to I.T. Service Desk.
- Provide subject matter support for operations and projects.
- Maintain knowledge of managed systems and environment thru self-study and other approved training opportunities.
- Remain current on new systems technology to determine how new offerings may assist the Credit Union to accomplish its goals.
- Participate in departmental on-call scheduling and after-hour maintenance windows.
- All other duties as assigned.

Contacts: Frequent contact with other employees, departments, and outside vendors.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Associate’s degree in related field. Commensurate experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
Experience - Four (4) years’ progressive experience with Linux and Windows system administration with two (2) years` supporting Linux.
- Preferred experience with Oracle Database Administration and Fiserv DNA.
- Must possess, or ability to obtain, within 180 days of employment:
- CompTIA Security + and CompTIA Server+
- Red Hat System Administrator certification (RHCSA)
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use wrist/hand/fingers to key accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license, means of transportation, and be able to travel independently.
- Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
- Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Technical Skills
- Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, desktop computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, communications equipment, calculator, fax, and copy machine. Experience with VMware is a plus.
