Network Administrator
Location: Remote (work from home) with 75% Travel – Primarily California, Oregon, Washington
Duration: 6-month Project
CDW is seeking a skilled Network Administrator for an exciting 6-month project! In this dynamic role, you will travel extensively (75% of the time) across the West Coast, with a focus on California, Oregon, and Washington. You will be responsible for assessing, surveying, and planning for network upgrades at various locations. Your primary task will involve evaluating and documenting current network topologies, ensuring a seamless transition to modernized systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to various client locations primarily in California, Oregon, and Washington to assess network infrastructure.
- Conduct detailed surveys of existing network setups, documenting current network topologies, physical equipment, and related systems.
- Provide recommendations for network improvements based on your assessments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement upgrade plans effectively.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and client specifications.
Experience Required:
- Strong background in networking, specifically with Cisco routing and switching.
- Solid understanding of physical network equipment, including routers, switches, Wireless Access Points (WAP), Wireless Access Controllers (WAC), data ports, and network cabling.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time across the West Coast, primarily to California, Oregon, and Washington.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Matterport for 3D mapping and surveying.
- Familiarity with Ekahau for wireless site survey and planning.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are highly desirable.
