Job Summary: The Director of Operational Excellence will lead the development and execution of strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of operational processes, and a proven track record of successfully leading change management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic plan for operational excellence that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the effectiveness of operational processes. Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Change Management: Drive change management efforts by effectively communicating with stakeholders, managing resistance, and ensuring successful implementation of new processes and systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to identify operational challenges and opportunities, and facilitate cross-functional teams to address these issues.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to promote operational excellence and ensure employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure that all operational practices comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior operational role, with a track record of leading successful process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of operational excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) and their application in various business environments.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational goals.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
