Job Summary
The System Monitoring Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure used to monitor internal/external client systems. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to ARTECH and client standards.
Essential Function
- SolarWinds and Nagios administration
- Windows and Linux administration
- Database Administration (all DB’s)
- Experience with VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi based)
- Experience with VMware VSan
- Cisco Networking Experience
- PowerShell and Bash Scripting Experience
- Installation, configuration, and administration of Nagios, SolarWinds, and their related scripts and agents
- Management of cloud-based solutions such as AWS
- Operations and Support Tasks
- Perform daily system monitoring.
- Review monitoring system and tune alerts.
- Create sophisticated monitoring constructs, such as synthetic transactions.
- Perform regular audits of monitoring software.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.

Minimum Requirements/Preferences
- Systems Monitoring Administration
- SolarWinds
- Nagios
- Experience with monitoring SQL Server or some other RDBMS
- Experience with VMware cloud deployments
- Knowledge with common protocols: SSH, SMTP, SFTP, CTF, IMAP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, TCP, UDP
- 2-year degree with a technical major or equivalent experience preferred
