JOB SUMMARY: The Analyst, Fraud Risk is responsible for identifying and eliminating fraud and credit losses to Forbright Bank and our clients. This role will also collaborate with key operational teams and governance bodies to further enhance the company's risk and security posture. To succeed in this role, the Fraud Risk Analyst will work closely with various internal teams and external partners to ensure our risk management programs provide associate safety and protection of the company's interests and assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a fast-paced environment reviewing a high volume of risk alerts to identify potentially high risk/suspicious processing activity to protect the firm against financial loss
- Conduct research and analyze member accounts for possible cases of fraud and ensure the most efficient fraud loss prevention strategies are utilized
- Perform detailed and timely fraud analysis including identifying and solving emerging fraud patterns
- Monitor the implementation of Fraud Risk Assessment solutions while maintaining a perspective of business impact and customer experience of fraud rules
- Perform ongoing due diligence on all high-risk accounts and maintain appropriate documentation and controls
- Review, assess, and document information system security risks and controls
- Act as a resource and provide a high level of service to internal clients, providing interpretive advice as to the application of securities regulations to various business scenarios
- Support the company’s governance through risk analysis, engage in discussions associated with new initiatives and change management, and providing overall support as needed to include documentation and meeting preparations
- Work with very sensitive information and maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information as it pertains to members and member related research/investigations
- Comply with all bank policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations
- Apply analytical and technical skills leveraging sophisticated tools/detection systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional/relevant work experience required
- Minimum of 4+ years’ experience working in fraud prevention, risk management, information security, financial services, internal audit, or other professional work associated with the occupational field required
- Demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn and understand the banking/financial services industry regulatory reporting frameworks
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skill
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Must have analytical skills and a proven ability toward conflict resolution
- Detail oriented, self-starter, and prior demonstration of good judgment
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar fraud-related certification preferred
The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $71,000 (entry level qualifications) to $90,000 (highly experienced).
