Project Summary
Client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support its Network & Security Engineering Team.
Responsibilities
The hired resource will be responsible for Firewall support (implementation of firewall rules and policies), routing, switching, and load balancing. CareFirst will be ending the migration of 50% of its environment to the cloud (90% Azure, 10% AWS) with the remaining 50% on-prem early next month. Currently they have a 90+ Firewall environment (Palo Alto) with 2 Panorama instances (1 cloud and 1 on-prem). This position requires an on-site presence 1-2 days a week at Columbia or Owings Mills, MD data center locations for ad-hoc hardware support and has a 1-week (Sunday to Sunday) 24/7 on-call rotation every 7-8 weeks.
Must
- 7+ years of overall Network/Systems Engineering experience with hands-on experience performing Routing, Switching, and load balancing
- 5+ years of experience with firewall support and the implementation of firewall rules and policies
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Panorama for Firewall Management and Palo Alto Prisma Cloud
- Hands-on experience supporting an enterprise hybrid cloud (Azure / AWS preferred) and on-prem environment.
