Summary Of Position
We are looking at hiring talented and motivated junior Cloud Engineers to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse Big-Data cloud systems based upon documented requirements. You will provide expertise in cloud computing Eco-Systems, including implementing applications, distributed computing, Information Retrieval, and Object-Oriented Design. Our employees in these positions will review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results, resolve software problem reports, and provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and use of Commercial Off the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off- the-shelf (GOTS).
Required Skills
- Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques and algorithms.
- Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines, knowledge areas and skills.
- Experience developing and deploying data driven analytics; event driven analytics; sets of analytics orchestrated through rules engines.
- Experience with linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts).
- Experience developing and deploying analytics that discover and exploit social networks.
- Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element dictionaries, software application program interfaces and other technical specifications.
- Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
- Understanding of Cloud Scalability. Hadoop/Cloud Certification. LDAP protocol configuration management and cluster performance management (e.g. Nagios).
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- 4 years of experience with high level languages such as Java, C, C++.
- 3 years of experience developing software for Windows (2000, 2003, XP, Vista), or UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
- 3 years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
- Ability to work with Open Source products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, CloudBase/Acumulo, Big Table, etc.
- Demonstrated work experience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc) and experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System
- Work experience with Serialization such as JSON and/or BSON
- Work experience developing Restful services
- Work experience in the requirements analysis and design of at least one Object Oriented system
- Work experience developing solutions integrating and extending FOSS/COTS products
- Technical Writing skills in support of a software development project
