Qualis Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer supporting the 96th Test Wing. This position is located at Eglin AFB, FL.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining LAN/MAN/WAN networks, to include the associated encryption, firewalls, VPN, routers, switches, and load balancers
- In-depth knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP environments requiring configuration of VLANs, spanning-tree, QoS, routing protocols, VRFs, GRE/mGRE tunnels, multicast, and 802.1x
- Skilled using network support and assessment tools and workflows, such as: SCAP, Nessus (ACAS), NMAP, terminal emulators, network monitoring suites, network protocol and cable analyzers, IPAM tools, network configuration managers, IT service management platforms, and Visio
- Thorough experience troubleshooting network hardware, including but not limited to: switches, routers, boundary protection, cross-domain solutions, data diodes, and various other network managed devices
- Establishes networking environments by designing system configuration; directing system installation; and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
- Ability to evaluate IT environments and identify security goals, vulnerabilities, objectives, and requirements
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; and defining and monitoring access
- Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified ISs and data using Air Force approved network engineering practices, information security standards, approved industry best practices, and by employing approved new technologies
- Ability to maintain DoD 8570/8140 baseline certifications to include: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Exceptions to CCNP (e.g., CCNA Security) may be allowed for exceptional candidates based on Government approval.
Desired Requirements:
- Experience supporting ultra-low latency network infrastructure for time sensitive systems
- Experience with designing, developing, and implementing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures
- Experience working with cable infrastructure, installing and maintaining data cables, and cable management equipment
- Experience with Type I HAIPE Encryptors (e.g., General Dynamics TACLANE to include the Micro and Gig-E models)
- Knowledge of NIST, NISPOM, DSS, JSIG, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity requirements, as well as DoD STIGs
- Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Ability to provide Tier 1-3 network support to customer, utilizing common fault and incident management tools
- Ability to perform independent research and analysis of network and cyber security systems
Education and Experience Qualification:
- Master's with 10 years' experience in network administration with experience in secure environments. Substitution of experience for education will be considered with Government approval
- Must have the ability to quickly understand the customer's overall technical objectives/mission and provide solution architectures to meet mission capability requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required
- Must be able to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Must be willing to travel up to 10%
- US Citizenship required
- Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance with last investigation within 6 years
