Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an OMOP CDM SME (Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model Subject Matter Expert). The role involves day-to-day tasks such as analyzing and mapping healthcare data to the OMOP CDM, providing expertise in designing and implementing data models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and accuracy. The OMOP CDM SME will also contribute to the development and enhancement of data management strategies and processes.
Role Responsibilities:
- Good work experience in OHDSI Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) – knowledge on the OHDSI vocabularies and standardization of medical terms to be used across the various clinical domains of the OMOP common data model and enable standardized
- Experience in managing updating OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) - analytics that leverage the knowledge base when constructing exposure and outcome phenotypes. Data conversion in complaint with OMPO CDM to generate evidence using standardized analytics tools.
- Good experience in Standardized Clinical data and corresponding attributes and entities used in OMOP Common Data Model - must have good experience in managing tables such as Person, Observation, Procedure Occurrence, Visit Occurrence etc.
- Excellent work experience in managing Standardized Metadata and Standardized vocabularies - such as Concept, Domain, Vocabulary, Concept Class tables etc.. Understanding on design and rationale of domains and reuse of existing vocabularies. Must have clear understanding how to populate these tables.
- Good to have experience on FHIR on HL7 and knowledge on resources and elements in FHIR. Experience on data model conversion from FHIR resource layout to OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) would be preferred.
Qualifications
- Expertise in the OMOP CDM and its implementation
- Strong knowledge of observational medical research and healthcare data
- Experience in analyzing and mapping healthcare data to standardized data models
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages
- Understanding of data quality and data governance principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science)
