Job Summary for the Manager of Technology
The primary role of the Manager of Information Technology is to provide direction, leadership, and vision in the field of Information Technology and telecommunications. This position will stay abreast of current technologies to give our operators on all levels the tools to be effective in supporting our guests and team members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Remain current on POS, operating systems and telecommunications to enable recommendations for software and hardware to maximize operating efficiencies and minimize costs
- Ensure integrity and security of all systems and data
- Manage and lead all direct reports; this includes coaching, developing and performance reviews
- Create KPIs for team and department based on overall company goals
- Manages 3rd party provider for On-Call IT support for hardware and software of all systems in place at multiple remote locations
- Travel to remote locations for various projects, troubleshooting and general IT Service oversight
- Perform regular software and infrastructure upgrades
- Advanced network and user administration pertaining to setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting and backing-up systems
- Budget, lead and project- manage team and all resources towards the development and implementation of various software/hardware rollouts
- Monitor and manage all IT projects
- Create clear and concise documentation for rollouts and support
- Research and make recommendations on hardware/software purchases and negotiate agreements with vendors
- Resolve issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize system downtime and risks
Additional Responsibilities
Provide on-site support for software/hardware updates
Maintain corporate software and ERP solutions
Produce monthly analysis reports
Assist in software development and deployments
Understand TooJay’s technology infrastructure and application platforms
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Prior hospitality, multi-location retail or restaurant technology experience to include Point of Sale software, hardware, Inventory management
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and proven record of application
General working knowledge of cloud IaaS services such as Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Exchange Online
5-7 years’ experience in technical leadership role
Detail & task oriented
- General understanding of server backup methods and applications
- Ability to manage Microsoft Server environment, including Active Manager administration, DNS, and DHCP
- Moderate understanding of network technologies including IP Addressing, routing, switching, IPSEC tunneling, MPLS networks, and wireless technologies
Strong understanding and experience with Relational Databases & Interfaces
Able to read and create windows scripting programming
Ability to determine business requirements and suggest alternative methods for successful implementation
Strong prioritization skills
Proven ability to provide administration, support, and training for all Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
