Job Duties:
- Integrate OPIR data into the GEOINT enterprise, prioritizing by 1) Assisting the government customer with OPIR data integration plans, leveraging experience in predictive data modeling, automated data labeling, and Deep Learning workflows; 2) Modifying existing standards/specifications to conserve resources, drawing on experience in designing geospatial information products for remote sensing satellite constellations; 3) Elevating the profile of OPIR data within NSG data standards/governance bodies through high-level presentations, supported by a background in publishing scientific research and data visualization; and 4) Applying expertise in automated methodologies for spectral analysis of MSI and HSI imagery to OPIR data to enhance their utility for a diverse suite of intelligence applications across the NSG.
- Provide data science expertise in designing, developing, and managing comprehensive ontological frameworks and possess a deep understanding of data provenance and data pedigree, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and traceability of data throughout its lifecycle inducing: Ontology Design and Development - Create and manage comprehensive ontological frameworks for organizing and integrating complex datasets; develop semantic models and taxonomies to enhance data interoperability and usability; and collaborate with domain experts to ensure ontological structures accurately represent systems and processes; Data Provenance Management - Track, document, and verify the origins, history, and transformations of data throughout its lifecycle; develop and implement methodologies for capturing and maintaining detailed provenance record; and ensure transparency and reproducibility of data analyses by maintaining accurate provenance documentation; Data Pedigree Management - Manage and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and traceability of data lineage across various systems; implement data lineage tools and techniques to monitor and document data flow and transformations; and ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards related to data pedigree; Data Integration and Quality Assurance - Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and coherence within ontological frameworks; conduct data quality assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain high data integrity; and develop and enforce data quality metrics and standards; and Collaboration and Communication - Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration and management; communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; and provide training and support to team members on best practices for ontology, provenance, and pedigree management.
- Map data stakeholder landscape to establish partnerships and influence NSG standards, while enhancing data stewardship with standards/data modeling guidance.
- Document consensus on data representation, format, definitions, structuring, tagging, transmission, use, and management, ensuring alignment with advanced visualization and predictive modeling practices.
- Ensure adherence to current and evolving enterprise standards within the DoD/IC IT Service Registry, applying statistical analytics and ML methodologies when applicable and advantageous.
- Develop and refine Metadata standards to support system integration and data services within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Propose technical terms and definitions to extend NSG standards for space operations, utilizing a background in remote sensing, GIS, and ML, as well as collaboration with community SMEs.
- Provide Systems Engineering and Integration Advisory services, particularly in the areas of oversight of software development and Geospatial data science.
Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of overhead spacecraft and ground system requirements, operations, technical specifications, and multi-organizational systems engineering practices.

Minimum Required Skill Level of:
- 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree; or
- 8 years of relevant experience and a Master of Science (MS) degree; or
- 5 years of relevant experience and a PhD degree.
Job Type: Full-time in Person
Pay: $160,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
