Position Overview: Greater Good Charities is looking for a Director of IT to join our team and apply their talents to amplify the good for people, pets, and the planet. The Director of IT will lead Greater Good Charities’ technology strategy and operations (including Greater Good Charities and Greater Good Charities Europe), ensuring that our IT infrastructure, applications, and services effectively support our mission. This role involves overseeing the IT department, managing technology projects, ensuring cybersecurity, and driving innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic leadership, global data governance experience, and hands-on technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Strategy:
- Lead the IT department, including staff management, development, and performance evaluation.
- Help develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with Greater Good Charities’ goals.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and digital trends.
- Identify and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency and program delivery.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT team.
- Technology Operations:
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including Salesforce (CRM, Grants Management, Inventory Management, ERP), NetSuite (Accounting Software), Google Cloud Platform (Data Warehousing), and HubSpot (Marketing, CMS, Sales/Fundraising).
- Ensure reliable and secure network, server, and database operations.
- Manage the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Manage relationships with external IT service providers and vendors.
- Communicate IT strategies and initiatives to stakeholders, including the board of directors and donors.
- Promote the adoption of digital tools and platforms across the organization.
- Cybersecurity and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Global Data Governance:
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks and policies across global operations.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of organizational data.
- Drive data quality and consistency across all systems and regions.
- Project Management:
- Plan and oversee technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, including coordination with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors to properly .
- Implement project management best practices and methodologies.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with experience in global data governance, digital transformation projects, and team management.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and managing large-scale technology projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
