Title: Vice President

MAST Travel Network, an Oak Brook based travel agency consortium, sales and marketing company is seeking a Vice President to join our executive leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about their work, excited to guide the staff in learning and adapting to changing and growing responsibilities, and enthusiastic about the travel industry.
Responsibilities:
- Second in Command to the President & COO
- Assist the president and the board of directors to design the company's overall mission, values, strategic goals, and invigorate MAST business strategies.
- Lead, guide, direct and evaluate the work of the staff, such as directors and managers, and ensure a healthy working environment.
- Contribute to sales and marketing innovations, strategic business development, and the profitability of the company as determined by the company's strategic goals.
- Evaluate the success of the company in achieving its goals and formulating plans to correct any issues if the company is not achieving its goals.
- Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards.
- Represent MAST at high-level industry affairs
- Conduct trainings and public speaking at MAST meetings and events
- Assist Leadership in Staffing – hiring, terminating, training, performance evaluation
- Assist Department Directors in developing strategies for annual Membership Renewals, Supplier Sales Agreements, including sales goals and overrides, and Supplier Marketing Plans
- Assist Accounting in the annual budgeting process
- Spearhead the development of fam trip opportunities
- Develop and launch new program for MAST Luxury Collection
- Spearhead the development of MAST’s Supplier Deep Dive training for members
- Assist President & COO in event management such as; speaker coordination, educational topics, speaker scripts, sponsor recognitions, panel coordination, etc.
- Manage various MAST Departmental Committee Activities such as committee scope, committee member recruitment, coordinate/schedule quarterly meetings, create meeting agendas, manage committee assignments in various events and projects, evaluate feedback, manage meeting minutes
- Support members to achieve resolution of supplier-related business issues, such as booking conflicts or processing errors, commission payment discrepancies, client management, travel disruptions, pre/post travel issues, etc.
- Oversee MAST’s Internal Host Agency Division and foster growth in program’s participation and benefits, assist where needed in agency commission distribution
- Work with technology department to establish new technology projects and platforms
- Foster growth in MAST memberships and footprint on a national level
- Involvement in regional and national ASTA initiatives to support the evolution of the travel and tourism industry
- Annual business review of MAST programs and services to incorporate any new marketing innovations or education/training strategies that will further enhance the benefits of MAST membership and supplier partnerships
- Conduct Business Coaching with members
- Assist with MAST events, preparation, and on-site execution
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company
Expectations:
- Willing and able to, on occasion, travel out of town and work long days and weekends, performing physical tasks as needed at company and industry events.
- Stay current on travel industry news, be knowledgeable on the issues of the day, challenges of the marketplace, know what out competition, suppliers, and other travel-related companies are doing and how this activity relates to MAST.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills.
