General Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining a complex computing environment and applications for worldwide corporate use. This position requires the ability to rapidly diagnose applications and/or system problems and accurately communicate with team members to ensure the best course of action for incident response.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement Windows Operating System Patches.
- Manage hardware and software licenses and renewals.
- Support Manufacturing IT projects.
- Facilitate and coordinate incident response resolution for elevated and priority helpdesk tickets.
- Coordinate Manufacturing Application incident response, troubleshooting and documentation.
- Performs, validates, and documents periodic tests of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Maintains the integrity, performance and security of all servers and systems.
- Monitors system and network performance. Develops metrics and alerts to ensure reliability and proactively support growth.
- Troubleshoots software, hardware, and internet issues as they arise.
- Provides advice and training to end-users, as needed.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
- Maintains system documentation and change management procedures.
- Monitors Domain and File Server security systems and Auditing tools.
- Assist Senior IT Operations staff as needed to meet company goals.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities
- Document and maintain a detailed disaster recovery plan and testing results for DR as developed by senior IT Operations staff.
- Ensure that all networking equipment and OS configurations are current and backed up.
- Manage hardware and software licenses and renewals.
- Submit Purchase Orders as needed.
- Assist with System documentation and adherence to corporate responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- Minimum 2 years prior information technology and systems or network administration experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose information technology issues.
- Experience with the existing technical environments (listed below).
- Maintains currency with evolving data center technologies.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Microsoft Servers, Linux Servers
- VNWare vSphere Virtual Data Center
- Windows desktop and laptops, with some Apple MacBooks
- Growing base of cloud servers: AWS
- MS SQL Databased
