What you can expect as the Associate Cyber Operator at Fortress...
The Associate Cyber Operator will be Fortress Security Solution’s first level of critical support to ensure products are being assessed based on security controls and vulnerabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage documented methods/procedures to produce an initial assessment for both Software and Hardware products by validating vendor-provided open-source information. Once the initial assessment is completed, you will be expected to critically evaluate and identify any risks discovered in the assessment to define and/or document new or improved methods/procedures during the quality control phase with your team. The ultimate deliverable will be to assess the risk of the designated products while anticipating, recognizing, reporting, and resolving disparities with your team members and finally create a professional write-up based on your assessment findings.
Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for the vulnerability risk evaluation to ensure each vulnerability is rigorously evaluated, mitigated, and documented.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
- Monitor dashboards to determine if any escalations are needed.
- Maintain an understanding of the current security landscape and threat news.
- Be flexible and willing to take on new tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-3 years' experience in a professional environment or completion of a cybersecurity boot camp
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Education
- Associate Degree required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Cybersecurity related certifications (Network+, Security+, CySA+ or equivalent).
Compensation
- $50,000 – $55,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
