The Opportunity:
Bustem (https://bustem.com) is hiring a Founding CTO to lead product and engineering as we scale from a high-powered MVP to a full SaaS platform.
You’ll work directly with the founder to turn Bustem into the dominant brand protection platform for DTC and e-commerce brands.
About Bustem
Bustem protects e-commerce brands from copycats, counterfeiters, and content theft — handling DMCA takedowns, escalations to Amazon, Meta, Shopify, TikTok, and more.
Today:
- Hybrid software + human-in-the-loop enforcement service
- $1M+ ARR within 5 months of launch (fully bootstrapped)
- 40+ brands onboarded with strong market pull
- Lean, scrappy team in hyper-growth mode
- Based in NYC (Flatiron)
Tomorrow:
- Building full SaaS: automated detection, enforcement, reporting
- Software first, human only where needed
- Massive expansion opportunity across e-commerce ecosystems

Oliver Brocato previously:
- Bootstrapped and exited Tabs Chocolate ($11M/year)
- Scaled StudyBuddy.gg to $150K MRR in under 12 months
- Now building Bustem to protect the next generation of brands at scale.
What You’ll Own
- Lead all product + engineering from MVP to SaaS platform
- Own technical architecture, product roadmap, and execution
- Scale internal enforcement tools and external brand dashboard to full SaaS
- Build lightweight, high-velocity systems — prioritize speed, iteration, and customer feedback
- Hire and grow a small, elite engineering team
- Work hand-in-hand with the founder to shape strategy and execution
- Ship fast, learn faster
What We’re Looking For
- You’ve built and shipped real products — ideally from MVP to scale
- Strong across full stack (you’ll ship solo at first)
- Bias toward speed, ownership, and ruthless problem-solving
- Pragmatic: care more about outcomes than frameworks
- Experience with SaaS, B2B platforms, or e-commerce tools preferred
- Based in NYC or willing to relocate (in-person role, no remote)
