Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a senior executive leader responsible for shaping and executing Rosen Hotels & Resorts’ technology vision. The CIO will drive digital transformation across all properties, enhance guest experiences through innovative solutions, and optimize operational efficiency through secure and scalable technology systems. This role leads the Information Systems (IS) business unit and collaborates with the RHR executive team, outside clients, and stakeholders to ensure technology initiatives align with goals and deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the company’s overall technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Direct all IT and IS operations, including infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, and digital platforms.
- Oversee the development and implementation guest-facing technologies that enhance service and experience.
- Lead and mentor IT department managers, fostering professional development and high performance.
- Champion digital innovation initiatives across all departments.
- Ensure the security, stability, and scalability of IT systems and data architecture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning within the technology teams.
- Oversee technology budgets, forecasts, and capital investments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology capabilities with strategic initiatives.
- Monitor emerging trends and technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, automation) and assess applicability to business.
- Develop long-term plans for hardware, software, and system upgrades
- Ensure compliance with government and industry regulations related to technology and data.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and manage key technology contracts.
- Serve as the top-level escalation point for critical IT issues and solutions.
- Represent the organization at technology conferences and within industry networks.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in technology, with 5+ years in an executive-level role such as CIO, VP of Technology, or similar.
- Proven experience leading large, cross-functional technology teams.
- Strong background in digital transformation, software development, and cloud-based solutions.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and IT governance.
- Experience in the hospitality, travel, or multi-site business environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business goals into practical, scalable technology solutions.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and vendor management skills.
- Proven ability to think strategically and act independently in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, problem-solving, financial management, and adaptability.
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset is essential for driving innovation, fostering business growth, and maintaining a competitive edge.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP)) are a plus.
