The Principal Storage Architect will be responsible for design and architecture of the storage and retrieval solutions for EM&C data that will be utilized by the mission applications using the Botney Bay and Kobiashi Maru platforms. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of Storage design and implementation with experience in storage issue mitigation as well as prevention. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, plan effectively to complete design tasks, and communicate storage solutions and designs to an audience effectively.
The Principal Storage Architect will primarily work in our Aurora, CO location; with some travel to local sites that may be required for technical meetings and system implementation. The ideal candidate must be Local to the area and willing to drive into the Raytheon or customer locations as required to support architectural design meetings as needed.
What You Will Do
- Experience designing advanced storage and virtualized infrastructure
- You will design/architect/develop and support Storage solutions optimizing for performance and scalability across multiple computing environments and platforms
- You will support technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) as necessary to discuss design and architecture of the storage design
- You will contact vendors for hardware and software architecture support and perform Trade studies for the design solution
- You will work with System Administrators as well as other engineering personnel for implementation of storage designs and configurations
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8+ years of related work experience
- Advanced Experience Architecting, designing, configuring, and supporting Storage Systems (EM-C Dell, IBM, NetApp)
- Experience with the Botney Bay and Kobiashi Maru platforms
- Experience with Containerized storage solutions (E.g. PVC/OCP/Kubernetes)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government TS/SCI issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only us citizens are eligible for security clearances
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g.: Scrum, SAFe)
- Understanding of enterprise backup architecture, emphasizing Cohesity of backup solutions
- Familiarity with Cloud Application Platforms such as AWS
- Experience with VM provisioning (E.g. VMWare / Vsphere)
- Experience with scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash)
- Experience integrating with identity management, access management, and authorization solutions (PKI, LDAP, OAUTH, OpenID)
- Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, Bit Bucket)
- Experience using automation frameworks such as Ansible or Chef
- Experience with containers
- Experience conducting trade studies and analysis of competing technologies
- Experience with Linux System Administration (E.g. RHEL 6.0+)
- Comp TIA Security + within 90 days
