TAYS is seeking a
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join our dynamic team! SYSTEMS
ADMINISTRATOR contributes to various projects within a federal agency. This role is based on Woodlawn, MD, and requires a qualified candidate with robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, coupled with keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuration & Administration: Oversee the configuration and ongoing administration of systems, ensuring alignment with security policies and operational needs. Recommend improvements, optimize session reporting, and maintain system integrity.
- Support Procedures & Documentation: Develop and implement streamlined support processes and clear documentation and agency personnel. Contribute to Knowledge Base (KB) articles for reference and efficient issue resolution.
- System Integrations: Design and implement integrations between systems and other critical monitoring, ticketing, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, such as ServiceNow, Zabbix, and Splunk.
- Virtual Machine Deployment: Deploy virtual machines and configure software, ensuring systems are set up properly and aligned with security requirements.
- Change Management: Apply regular updates and patches as required, following authorized approval and adhering to agency change management processes. This includes submitting supporting change management tickets, reporting change status, and closing tickets upon successful completion.
- Monitoring & Incident Response: Respond to system-level alerts from various sources (e.g., Zabbix, ServiceNow, Splunk email alerts, and trouble tickets). Monitor and manage the team’s email inbox to address and resolve any service issues promptly.
- Service Request Management: Review Service Request Forms (SRF) and make recommendations for appropriate service levels. Conduct onboarding meetings based on approved SRF and provision users and groups in LDAP according to the defined methods.
- Client Guidance & Support: Provide expert guidance to clients on functionality, document unique use cases, and maintain detailed records of all interactions.
- Troubleshooting & Collaboration: Actively participate in troubleshooting sessions, calls, and events. Monitor internal tickets (e.g., ServiceNow tickets) and respond to client inquiries via SharePoint and email, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Reporting & Documentation: Generate outage reports in the approved format and ensure that all service interruptions are documented comprehensively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in security infrastructure management.
- Strong understanding of security policies, procedures, and system configurations.
- Experience in integrating monitoring, ticketing, and SIEM systems (e.g., Zabbix, ServiceNow, Splunk).
- Familiarity with virtual machine deployment and system administration.
- Solid knowledge of change management processes, including ticketing systems and documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond quickly to system alerts and incidents.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for providing clear guidance and reporting.
- Experience with LDAP user provisioning and managing service request forms.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Certification or training in security infrastructure management or related fields.
- Beyond Trust certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools like SharePoint, SNMP, and related systems
