Job Title: VMware System Administrator
Location: Boise, ID (Fully Onsite)
Duration: Short-term (3 months with the possibility of extension to 6 months)
Interview: In-person interview required
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows server hardware and software to ensure system reliability, security, and performance.
- Implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware from attacks.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime.
- Regularly update systems with patches and upgrades.
- Perform routine backup operations and manage disaster recovery processes.
- Manage Active Directory/Azure AD, including group policy creation, user account management, and domain security protocols.
- Monitor and manage VMware virtual environments.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and service records.
- Provide Tier II technical support and troubleshoot user issues.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve complex technical problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a background check.
- 3+ years of experience administering enterprise Windows Server environments.
- 3+ years of experience managing VMware virtual server environments.
- Extensive experience with server management, troubleshooting, and network issues.
- Experience with server backup solutions and automation of server management tasks.
- Experience implementing and managing Active Directory.
- Knowledge of current IT trends and capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PowerShell scripting in large environments.
- Experience managing MS SQL servers.
- Experience designing high-availability (HA) server environments.
- Knowledge of SAN storage solutions, VMware, and Hyper-V.
- Experience integrating on-prem infrastructure with Azure cloud services.
- Formal training or experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
- Current Microsoft and VMware certifications.
