This team member is responsible for the oversight and management of IT Assets (hardware and software) through their standard life cycles, ensuring that the IT assets are well organized and effectively utilized. A successful IT Asset Manager will set and maintain internal policies to implement an effective asset management strategy across the enterprise, as well as communicate requirements to involved teams. An ideal candidate will act as a liaison between various stakeholders, ensuring that technical and business needs are met.
IT asset inventory management
Manage IT Assets (hardware and software) through their standard life cycles, ensuring that the IT assets are well organized and effectively utilized. This includes tracking and managing IT assets from procurement to disposal and working closely with Vendor Management to track new asset purchases.
Reporting and forecasting
Ensure that inventories are always kept in a compliant and reportable state required for audits and technical projects or support. Produce and deliver requested reports on demand.
Policy creation and maintenance
Set and maintain internal policies and procedures required to implement an effective IT Asset Management strategy across the enterprise, as well as communicate requirements to involved teams.
Program maintenance and growth
As the IT Asset Management program grows, ensure stakeholder awareness by communicating upgrade release notes and gathering recommendations for roadmap discussions of future states. Acting as a liaison between various stakeholders, ensuring that technical and business needs are met.
Position Requirements
- Experience maintaining inventory of end user devices including, but not limited to, laptops, desktops, printers, etc
- Experience maintaining inventory of data center devices including, but not limited to, servers, switches, routers, etc
- Experience maintaining inventory of software including, but not limited to, operating systems, third party applications, in house developed application, etc.
