Summary Description
The Chief Technology Offer (CTO) is responsible for overseeing the technology strategy and vision of the organization. This position will ensure the technology aligns with business goals, drives innovation and enhances the company’s competitive advantage. Manages the daily operations of the company’s IT infrastructure, software development, and emerging technologies while overseeing and leading an IT team. This position will also define, implement and drive technology policies, procedures, and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety, substance abuse prevention and employment policies and procedures.
- Complies with and ensures compliance with Tri-M’s standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
- Oversees the development and deployment of technology solutions, ensuring scalability, security and reliability.
- Develops and implements the company’s technology strategy to support business objectives.
- Collaborates with team leads to align technology initiatives with overall company strategy.
- Leads department personnel to achieve company objectives and maximize career development for employees.
- Oversees cyber security risk management procedures and systems.
- Leads the company on development of AI strategies to support company objectives and create value.
- Manages and administers the company e-mail system, internet access, and web pages.
- Oversees internal Tri-M help desk support for all users.
- Drives the development, planning, and implementation, of special projects in the information management and data processing areas.
- Manages the integration between various software packages within the company.
- Stays ahead of technology changes and makes recommendations to executive team of technological advances that could help the organizations efficiency.
- Develops and manages annual IT budget and approves expenditures for area of responsibility, ensuring cost-effective investments in IT infrastructure and software.
- Establishes and enforces IT policies and procedures, including security policies and data protection measures to ensures that all company assets are properly protected from external threats.
Skills & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in IT, software development, or engineering, with at least 3-5 years in an executive or senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role.
- Experience managing enterprise IT strategy, cyber security, cloud transformation and digital innovation.
- Extensive hands-on development experience with MS Software Products – Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange Server.
- Strong understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, data strategies, cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI and emerging technologies.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation; strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities; ability to foster and work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience managing and developing high performing teams.
Physical Requirements
- Working a minimum of 40 hours/week.
- Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
- Vision adequate for computer use and reading.
- Hearing adequate for phone use.
- Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, and walking as needed to perform site surveys to collect data for project design.
- Balance adequate for climbing ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0 F to 100 F up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection.
