Windows Systems Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Windows-based infrastructure, backup and recovery systems, and other critical platforms. Your specialized knowledge in system administration, cybersecurity, and server architecture will ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our technology environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and ensure the integrity of backup and recovery systems, implementing disaster recovery processes.
- Administer and maintain Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network-Attached Storage (NAS) for optimal data storage solutions.
- Perform Linux System Administration on mixed-platform systems as needed.
- Implement and manage Microsoft Entra ID, ensuring secure and reliable identity and access management.
- Manage Microsoft Intune for endpoint security and device management.
- Administer Active Directory Certificate Services to support certificate lifecycle management.
- Maintain and secure Active Directory environments, including group policies, user account management, and domain controllers.
- Oversee DNS Administration for efficient domain name system management and troubleshooting.
- Optimize virtualization solutions using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or other technologies.
- Ensure the stability and security of Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
- Collaborate on network architecture and perform Network Administration, including monitoring and configuring firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Develop and implement effective cybersecurity solutions to protect the organization's systems from threats.
- Provide server architecture and server administration expertise for ongoing operations and projects.
- Monitor and maintain systems' health by applying software patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure systems integrate seamlessly with other applications and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing Windows Server environments and related technologies.
- Expertise in Backup & Recovery Systems, SAN, and NAS administration.
- Experience with Linux System Administration alongside Windows systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory Certificate Services.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, monitoring tools, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of DNS Administration, virtualization technologies, and server architecture.
- Microsoft Exchange expertise, including troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.
- Experience with Active Directory Management, including users, groups, and group policies.
- Solid understanding of network administration, including IP protocols and hardware configuration.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a strong plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Proven track record in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Knowledge of network security principles and experience with cybersecurity incident response.
