Your Role
We are seeking a leader, mentor, and hands-on “doer.” We are specifically interested in candidates who have demonstrated success in small to mid-size, growth-oriented fintech, wealth management or other financial services organizations. Direct experience in Fixed Income is ideal.
Given today's technology-driven business landscape, InspereX’s CTO will be critical in shaping the organization’s broad technology roadmap and driving innovation. They will serve as a strategic leader on the executive team and oversee the development, implementation, and management of all technological aspects of the organization. It is a multi-faceted role, covering everything from the management of the organization's hardware, software, data and networks to developing and overseeing the technology platforms for clients and client facing associates.
To be ideally based out of our headquarters in Delray Beach, FL, your responsibilities include leading InspereX’s technological vision, strategies, and execution. You will report to the chief executive officer (CEO) and collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, including the Business Heads, product development, operations, etc., to align technology initiatives with business goals. As the digital transformation of how fixed income and market-linked securities are accessed, evaluated, and traded is at the core of this role, experience in financial services will be put to good use.
On a day-to-day basis, this means overseeing all tech staff while making sure all processes follow regulatory requirements and approved budgets are maintained. In this role, you will research and recommend new systems and technologies as required, as well as oversee the routine (to moderately complex) maintenance and enhancement of existing platforms and systems. The ultimate goal is to ensure the organization has the technological resources to deliver top-performing products and services and meet business goals.
Technical acumen and a growth mindset are table stakes in this role, though the ability to effectively communicate with your stakeholders and customers is equally critical. You must be able to empathize with stakeholders and customers to understand their needs and paint a vision of how technology can help them solve their current challenges and uncover challenges and solutions they may not have considered yet.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities span across various domains, encompassing both strategic and leadership functions:
1. Technology Strategy and Innovation: You will be entrusted with defining and executing the company's technological vision. This involves staying abreast of technology trends or emerging technologies, assessing their relevance to the business, and recommending innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.
2. Team Leadership and Management: You will be responsible for leading and managing the technology team, which includes software developers, platform engineers, data scientists, and other IT professionals, including those with expertise in Cyber-security and AI/ML. You will offer technical guidance for optimizing and designing the organization’s platforms, business process models and the architecture that supports them.
3. Technical Architecture and Infrastructure: You will lead & manage the organization's technical architecture and infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. You must evaluate and adopt suitable technologies that streamline operations and enhance performance.
4. Product Development: You willcollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and business leaders, to drive the development of technology products aligned with business goals. You will oversee the product lifecycle, from concept to launch.
5. Research and Development (R&D): Continuous innovation is a cornerstone of the CTO role. This involves leading R&D efforts, understanding new technologies, and fostering a culture of creativity and exploration within the technology team.
6. Cybersecurity and Risk Management: You will ensure robust cybersecurity measures across the organization's digital landscape; you must develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and protect sensitive data.
7. Strategic Partnerships: You will forge strategic partnerships with technology vendors, startups, and other industry leaders. These collaborations can lead to the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and the exploration of new business opportunities.
8. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Effective resource management is crucial. You will create and manage technology budgets, allocating resources efficiently to support various initiatives in an effort to achieve optimal value and impact.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Most critically, you will collaborate with other executives to understand business needs and ensure technology solutions aligned with those needs.
Your Technical Qualifications
1. Programming languages and architecture
As leading the engineering and architecture teams will be a primary responsibility, you should possess a deep understanding of various programming languages including C# with .Net framework and JavaScript with React, Node.js, enabling informed decisions regarding technology stacks and software development methodologies. You should be well-versed in designing robust architectures that can scale appropriately while maintaining data integrity while staying updated with the latest emerging tech trends. Significant professional background in agile software development lifecycle and/or deploying and configuring ERPs or COTs, with additional expertise in API, Web Services, and integration solutions.
2. IT Infrastructure, Network & Platform Engineering, DevOps
Sound knowledge in contemporary web, mobile, and application delivery platforms, coupled with expertise in Cloud management and tools crucial for developing scalable and cost-effective solutions. Proficient understanding of networking protocols, server management network security, and managing modern network infrastructure to ensure seamless and secure connectivity
3. Security
Proven experience in cybersecurity, site/network reliability and information security, with proven knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity design.
4. Data science and analytics
Understanding of data management, data analysis and data visualization to leverage insights for decision-making. Significant experience in leveraging data analysis tools and business intelligence platforms to make data-driven decisions and optimize business processes. Should possess the ability to design and deploy databases, as well as proficiently query and manage data. Experience with event sourcing, event streaming, Elasticsearch and MongoDB ideal.
5. Artificial intelligence & other leading-edge technologies
In partnership with other executives, you will form and implement an AI strategy, leadings its integration into the company’s internal systems and new products. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter specialist for other current emerging technologies including Machine Learning (ML), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), etc.
