Job Overview
RUDIS has designated a position in our IT Department for a System Administrator. This position combines traditional help desk responsibilities with advanced technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, manage system integrations, and optimize workflows. This role is a vital part of our IT department, responsible for ensuring the organization's systems operate effectively and adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
This individual will safeguard our critical systems and assets, design and implement solutions, deploy new software and hardware, provide user training, and contribute to the development of the overall IT strategy. From the start, the systems administrator will drive innovative initiatives, tackle complex challenges, lead key projects, and deliver impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
- SaaS Management & Optimization: Oversee tools, manage integrations (e.g. NetSuite, Google, Shopify), optimize licenses, and mitigate shadow IT risks.
- Evaluates and recommends new technology that can be used to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of staff and supports the objectives of the organization. Plans for the integration of technologies into existing systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
- Manage user accounts and access controls.
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Work with internal/external partners to communicate IT project status, activities, and achievements.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and implement system upgrades and improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and optimize workflows and automation, improving operational efficiency.
- Assist in managing e-commerce specific tasks, such as product synchronization, order flow, and inventory updates.
- Act as a technical point of contact addressing any concerns, queries, or issues that arise.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical clients clearly and effectively.
- Provide training to users and teams to ensure proper system utilization.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
- A strong understanding of day-to-day computer operations, familiar with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Proficiency in administering Google Workspace.
- Experience with virtualization and cloud services (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure).
- Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and has first-hand experience in improving help desk processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support and train employees across various technical proficiency levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with server and network performance monitoring software
- Demonstrated experience with first, second, and third level support responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of network security and data privacy practices and all common threat vectors. Has experience setting up counter-measures (e.g. VPN, zero-trust frameworks) to prevent or mitigate vulnerabilities.
