Avoya Travel is looking for a Senior systems administrator to join our dynamic Information Technology team for our San Marcos, CA location. The Senior Systems Administrator provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems, applications and related peripherals. Please note this will be a hybrid role.

What You’ll Be Doing...
- The Senior Systems Administrator must have IT Security experience and will be responsible for planning, implementing and administering all IT systems, applications and network infrastructure.
- Must maintain maximum uptime of all IT Infrastructure operations.
- Will have a solid understanding of IT system planning, architecture, and deployment.
- Execute all phases of implementation for new or updated software/hardware platforms.
- Develop and exercise existing IT system processes to maximize business productivity.
- Monitor and work service tickets that come in through our IT support team.
- Administer, plan, upgrade and provide advanced technical support and maintenance for all server, network, hardware and software applications.
- Document incident response, including steps to prevent issue reoccurrence.
- Properly escalate problems and supporting evidence to management or vendor support.
- Cross train with other team members to ensure redundancy of IT operations support.
- Identify and evaluate innovative technologies, under the direction of IT management.

- MS IIS 7.x Server Web Farms
- MS SQL 20xx Database Services
- MS Exchange 20xx Server Email / Office 365 / Exchange Online
- MS WSUS Software & Patch Management
- HP MSA, Dell EqualLogic, and Dell EMC VxRail Appliance
- Veritas Backup Exec 201x
- Cisco Switches
- Palo Alto Network Firewalls
- Familiar with PBX, VoIP, SIP and other telephony technologies
- Disaster Recovery, Redundancy, Replication and Failover solutions
Education and/or Experience…
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
- Must be highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Ability to handle situations in a calm, professional manner and exhibit good judgment.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with clients using a positive, clear speaking voice.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with other employees and managers to ensure teamwork.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
