Position Overview: As the Front Desk Receptionist at our partnered cardiology clinic, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
- Check in patients by collecting copayments, updating demographic information, and verifying insurance eligibility.
- Schedule and coordinate cardiology appointments, managing recall and no-show lists effectively.
- Process incoming referrals and direct them to the appropriate department.
- Handle petty cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Scan and import cardiology-related documents into the electronic system.
- Monitor and respond to messages from the You Call MD/Amazing portal.
- Ensure the waiting area is stocked with mints, magazines, and maintain cleanliness, including the water tank and cups.
- Sort and direct incoming mail and packages to the appropriate person or department.
- Assist in organizing and managing patient files and records for the clinic and outpatient surgery center.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Provide administrative support to cardiology staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and procedures.
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Knowledge of insurance processes and terminology.
- Experience with athenahealth EHR system is a plus.
- Experience in handling petty cash transactions and basic accounting.
- Familiarity with managing online patient portals is advantageous.
- Attention to detail in maintaining a clean and organized environment.
