Summary
The Freight Broker will provide customer service, carrier management and transportation operations support for multiple client accounts. Such support will require this team member to perform and coordinate multi-functional support toward the goal of margin growth and retention within and across all CLM accounts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Order entry, Pick-up and Delivery Scheduling - complete and accurate load details into the McLeod TMS.
- Create and maintain relationships with clients and respond to their requests in a timely manner, take responsibility for tracking and communicating pertinent information related to your loads and resolving problems.
- Execute the movement of freight to help fulfill client transportation requirements.
- Carrier / Load Track and Trace activity.
- Utilize the available tools and resources: Multiple Web Based Applications for Transportation, MS Office applications.
- Operations Reporting.
- AP/AR Admin.
- Perform cold calls, negotiate rates, solve problems, dispatch trucks, track loads and provide excellent customer service
- All employees have a responsibility to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- All employees have a responsibility to act in a safe manner; all accidents or incidents must be reported to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Associates degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent experience in related field.
A minimum of 3 years transportation experience is required in the brokerage industry/environment. Customer Service, Inside Sales and Brokerage Operations experience required.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have: Proficient typing and PC skills, MS Office product skills and related computer knowledge. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint knowledge preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
The ability to perform well under pressure is critical. In the brokerage operation, split second decision making often makes the difference between profit and loss and providing customer satisfaction.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
