Risk Management Analyst

Description of Duties:
The team members follow predefined operating procedures to support teams through the risk management process. These include…
- Verifying information about the risk items with issue identifiers and risk owners
- Assist risk item stakeholders in conducting risk analysis using defined criteria and evaluation methods
- Updating data in the band-end risk management systems while ensuring its accuracy and internal consistency
- Seeking updates from risk owners who fail to comply with mitigation/remediation SLOs
- Answering questions about defined risk management processes
Team members also support the maintenance and improvement of the risk management program by…
- Providing recommendations to improve existing procedures and implementing small scale improvements when directed
- Using and maintaining JavaScript (Apps Script) scripts to perform semi-automated and bulk tasks
Tools Used:
- Propriety internal ticket management system (similar to Jira or Redmine)
- G-suite applications (Google docs, sheets, etc)
- JavaScript (Apps Script) automations
- Proprietary web-hosted IDE used to edit and save process documentation files – Note: this does not require a significant amount of technical expertise

Qualifications
Required:
- Detail oriented – able to perform repetitive tasks with specific details that vary significantly
- Mentally flexible – capable of understanding moderately complex situations and simplifying them into their fundamental parts
- Tactful – able to interact with a wide range of people from multiple nationalities and cultural backgrounds in an amicable and professional manner
- Understand fundamental risk management concepts such as inherent risk, residual risks, types of mitigating controls, annual loss expectancy, etc
- Product accurate and timely status reporting of in-scope activities
- Participate in periodic meetings with Google managers and/or team members to review known issues and improve the risk management program
- (>2 yrs) History of operating independently in roles where risk management was a core competency, such as program management, project management, or any dedicated risk management role
- Comfortable operating within the bounds of a predefined process independently
- Must have a solid foundation in information security demonstrated by…
- Entry to mid-level professional certification in the Security and Risk Management domain (e.g. Sec+, SSCP, GSIF, etc) OR Associates degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field
Preferred:
- (>2 yrs) History of information security roles (e.g. security operations, security engineering) that presented ample opportunities for stakeholder management, performance SLOs, and operations delivery
- (>2 yrs) Technical program management experience – working cross functionally to solve issues focused on information security, privacy, or compliance
- (>2 yrs) Experience with a scripting language such as JavaScript or Python

- Mid to senior level professional certifications in the Security and Risk Management domain (e.g. PECB 27001F, PECB 27005LM, CISM, CISSP, etc)
