Job Description:
The State of Georgia (GTA) is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to support cloud migrations and AWS implementations across state agencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive AWS expertise, experience in enterprise IT architecture, and the ability to drive cloud adoption initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud migration, modernization, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Serve as a technical AWS expert, assisting agencies with cloud adoption challenges.
- Lead cross-functional, cross-organization initiatives to drive cloud transformation.
- Provide expertise in AWS cloud architecture, DevOps, security, and networking.
- Evaluate existing architectures and applications for cloud optimization.
- Review and develop cloud standards and best practices.
- Assist agencies in cost and performance optimization for cloud applications.
- Identify compliance and regulatory requirements for cloud solutions.
- Use Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Communicate effectively with executives, developers, and IT staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Architecture.
- 7+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale applications.
- 5+ years of AWS Cloud Architecture experience.
- 4+ years of AWS Cloud Implementation experience.
- 3+ years of Cloud Migrations experience.
- Experience with private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- State & Local Government experience.
- Experience in enterprise-wide integrations.
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in Java, Python, REST APIs, and cloud-based integration.
- Experience with AI-powered chatbot development.
- Knowledge of integration standards and best practices.
