The Databricks Architect position in the Aerospace / Aviation / Defense industry is a fully remote role with no specific location mentioned. The primary responsibility of the role is to architect and design solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements. The Architect will be involved in creating and reviewing architecture and solution design artifacts, as well as evangelizing re-use through the implementation of shared assets. This role will enforce adherence to architectural standards and principles while guiding engineering methodologies and leading practices. The Architect will work with global, distributed teams and must possess excellent technical architecture skills for creating future-proof, complex global solutions. They should have experience in architecting cloud-centric solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities, as well as strong hands-on experience with cloud services like ADF/Lambda, ADLS/S3, and security features. The Databricks Architect will be responsible for designing an end-to-end unified data platform covering all aspects of the data lifecycle and have extensive knowledge of Spark, Hive, and SQL. They should also be skilled in performance optimization, cost reduction, and creating complex data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, at least 3 years of experience with Databricks, and a strong desire to learn and upskill in the field. The approximate annual base compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000.
