Based within the risk Organization, the Enterprise Risk Management Sr. Analyst is responsible for supporting the ERM department in the designing and implementation of the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management program and assisting in the development and enhancement of ongoing risk management capabilities for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risk across the organization. This role requires strong banking industry experience, strong theoretical and practical knowledge of risk management, data analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge of risk management tools (e.g. GRC systems).
This role is responsible for analyzing risk data, creating risk reports consumed by various stakeholders, assisting in oversight of risk assessments and risk processes, and contributing to the implementation of risk management strategies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in identifying key risks across the organization, including operational, financial, compliance, strategic, and reputational risks.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the ERM framework, policies, and methodologies.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of risk related data libraries (e.g. risks, controls, issues), ensuring risk data is categorized and documented properly.
- Support enhancements to risk management processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Conduct benchmarking and research on emerging risks, industry trends, and best practices.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of the issue management process to track and meditate risk related findings from various stakeholders (e.g. self-identified issues, regulatory reviews, etc).
- Support the design and implementation of the tools and technology (i.e. – GRC), including documentation and training
- Assist in preparing risk management status reports, risk appetite adherence assessments, dashboards and presentations for senior management, risk committees, and the Board.
- Collaborate with other Risk Management teams and business units to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting.
- Assist in defining risk metrics to measure enterprise-wide risk performance.
- Support development and implementation of firm wide communication and training plan
- Support the Head of Enterprise Risk Program with the implementation and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework to further align it with mid-size bank regulatory standards and expectations.
Minimum Education and /or Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience. Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or business related.
- Relevant experience in risk management is the primary consideration, with certifications viewed as an added advantage.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements: 8-12 years
- At least 4 years of Financial Services experience
- At least 6 years of Risk Management experience
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to above):
- 5+ years of Financial Services risk management experience
- 5+ years of experience in Project or Process Management
- 5+ years of experience in GRC, including implementation, maintenance, and oversight of GRC programs and framework
Technical and/or Essential Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and public).
- Possess analytical skills (especially numerical, mathematical, and statistical).
- Ability to work under pressure (tight deadlines, shifting priorities, differences of opinion).
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and systems.
- Experience with Project Management and Microsoft Office suite; including advance knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of risk management systems (e.g. GRC)
Functional Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, data analytics, credit, market, operational and compliance risks analysis.
- Self -motivated, hands-on attitude and approach. Team player, with ability to work under pressure, have a professional image and be able to resolve problems and conflicts.
- Able to prioritize work and effectively manage time and have the ability to support change management initiatives.
- Possess advanced statistics, effective presentation skills, creative skills, ethics management and conducting effective meetings and research assessments are required.
- Ability to collaborate and relate well with people of different backgrounds and culture, build appropriate rapport and constructive, effective relationships, and use tact and diplomacy to handle situations comfortably.
