Job Summary:
Project New Generation is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our dynamic team and support our mission of providing quality care through innovative healthcare solutions. As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the technology infrastructure that supports our home healthcare services, ensuring seamless operations for staff working in the field and in-office. You will ensure all systems are secure, compliant with healthcare regulations, and support efficient patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

IT Systems Management & Support:
- Provide day-to-day IT support to clinical and administrative staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ensure the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and devices, including desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and clinical equipment.
- Support the integration and functioning of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring staff can access and update patient data securely and efficiently.

Network Infrastructure & Security:
- Manage and monitor the agency's network, including LAN, WAN, and VPN systems, ensuring secure and uninterrupted communication across all locations.
- Implement and manage network security protocols to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations, safeguarding patient data and agency information.
- Perform regular audits and system updates to ensure the security and privacy of all IT systems.

Remote Support for Field Staff:
- Configure and maintain remote access solutions for clinicians and home healthcare staff, ensuring they have reliable access to necessary tools and systems when working in the field.
- Troubleshoot remote connectivity issues, ensuring that staff can provide continuous patient care without interruption.

Compliance & Data Privacy:
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy laws, ensuring that all IT practices meet industry standards for security and confidentiality.
- Regularly monitor and audit systems for vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to maintain compliance.
- Work closely with management to ensure all software and systems are up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements.

Technology Training & Support:
- Provide training to staff on new technologies, systems, and software tools used by the agency, ensuring that all employees are proficient and comfortable with their IT tools.
- Create user-friendly documentation and guides for staff to troubleshoot common IT issues on their own.

System Optimization & Innovation:
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems to improve operational efficiency, clinical workflows, and overall patient care.
- Assist in the implementation of new IT projects, including software upgrades, system migrations, and technology improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative teams, and management to understand their technological needs and support them with appropriate solutions.
- Work with vendors and third-party providers to resolve issues with clinical software or hardware systems.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, medical software, and healthcare IT infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a home health care or similar patient-centered environment is a plus.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in network management (LAN, WAN, VPN), system administration, and device configuration.
- Hands-on experience with healthcare software solutions, including EHR systems.
- Knowledge of data backup, disaster recovery, and IT security best practices, particularly in healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and mobile device management (MDM) tools.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices in healthcare IT.

Certifications:
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional, are preferred.
- HIPAA certification or other healthcare-related certifications are a plus.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 30 pounds).
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based at Project New Generation's office, with occasional travel to patient homes or other locations to provide on-site IT support as needed.
- Flexibility for remote work or after-hours support may be required for critical issues.
