Job Description:
Peraton is seeking an experienced systems Desktop Systems Administrator – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client’s global missions.
The successful Desktop Systems Administrator - VDI candidate will understand the VDI infrastructure, specifically how storage and network connectivity affect VDI performance and end user experience; hoe peripherals and devices affect work within the VDI; and how security integrates within the solution that doesn’t impact the user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage VDI environments, desktop computers, devices and systems for the program, including installs, configuration for systems software deployments, upgrade and patch management.
- Analyze and make technical recommendations for desktop configuration selection to achieve fit for purpose for end users.
- Create, maintain and deploy desktop images.
- Monitor and maintain file server permissions by performing moves, adds, deletes and modifications of users for smooth and secure operations.
- Support implementation of network security and redundancy by providing cryptography to network applications; managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure file system integrity.
- Develop and conduct user training and instructions for program operating systems and applications.
- Install, configure, test and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
- Troubleshoot to proactively resolve issues and their root causes and respond to technical requests for support.
- Assess ongoing user experience and take action to resolve issues or to make enhancements.
- Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
