Capstone IT is seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining the organization's computer networks and systems, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure.
You’ll play a key role in supporting business operations by implementing enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing systems across multiple office locations. This position requires a solid technical foundation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects independently or in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server-based operating systems and other infrastructure.
- Manage user onboarding/offboarding, including system access and asset deployment/retrieval.
- Oversee the company’s network infrastructure across different offices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server resources.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity policies, security awareness training, and phishing simulations.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls based on best practices.
- Execute system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and continuity planning.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware/software solutions aligned with privacy, security, and budget considerations.
- Lead or advise on software implementations and user training.
- Collaborate with other departments to support projects and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Manage helpdesk operations, ensuring efficient and professional resolution of service requests.
- Maintain software/hardware inventory and manage vendor relationships and software contracts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Windows Server & macOS environments
- Microsoft 365 and Office Suite
- Networking tools and infrastructure
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- PowerShell or Bash scripting
- SQL database management
- Cybersecurity and backup systems
- Experience leading or overseeing low-complexity software development projects (e.g., Power Automate, .NET, Python, Java).
