Network Administrator to join our IT team at our
Headquarters located in
Farmington Hills, MI . The IT Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization's computer networks and systems. This role involves configuring, supporting, and securing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), internet systems, and other data communication systems. The IT Network Administrator ensures network availability, performance, and security while providing technical support to end-users. This position requires collaboration with other IT professionals to implement network solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.
Responsibilities And Job Duties
- Monitor and maintain all LAN/WAN networking equipment.
- Monitor and maintain all server hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance of all networking equipment and servers, including maintaining security updates.
- Manage backup and recovery systems including disaster recovery planning.
- Administer and support enterprise Microsoft 365 Exchange and Azure environments.
- Develop processes, procedures and strategies for network operations and end user usage.
- Monitor alerts and resolve network and server outages in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular audits of all supported hardware and applications to ensure compliance with established procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Create and maintain technical and end user documentation as necessary.
- Collaborate with vendors & suppliers to ensure adequate delivery and support of equipment and services.
- Assist with managing and supporting highly decentralized remote workforce including connectivity and application support on a variety of issues escalated from the Help Desk.
Requirements And Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated network and server administration experience.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and network services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
- Experience managing and maintaining Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and related security best practices.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Firewalls, Routers, and Switches, direct experience with FortiGate Firewalls & Switches a plus.
- IT related certifications with focus on network and systems administration are a plus.
- Experience with MS PowerShell scripting languages a plus.
- Strong project management experience required.
- Independent problem-solving and critical thinking; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate and train users of various skill levels in application and operating system fundamentals.
- Self-motivated desire to continuously build knowledge and skills.
