ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a highly motivated DevSecOps Administrator to support multiple agile software development projects.
Responsibilities: As a DevSecOps Administrator, your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize all DevOps tools and processes in use across our platforms. You will oversee the development and maintenance of a secure, automated platform that facilitates efficient and effective software development workflows. Your role includes ensuring the continuous improvement of process automation, overseeing the deployment of applications, and managing the automated configuration of Devops tools and resources. You will play a key role in empowering the development team by providing robust DevOps solutions that align with industry standards and best practices, ultimately enhancing the team's productivity and the reliability of their outputs.
As a DevSecOps Admin, Your Responsibilities Include
- Developing and supporting an end-to-end secure CI/CD pipeline for the deployment of a complex environment across a variety of deployment scenarios and sites
- Providing Continuous Integration/Delivery pipeline tooling expertise, direction, and assistance across all levels of the organization
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and follow GitOps principals to support automated environments for scalability and availability
- Proficiency in matching Cloud Native, OSS & COTS system capabilities with the knowledge and ability to Identify, Evaluate and Select specific types of platform tools to meet those requirements.
- Working with internal customers to troubleshoot tools and issues related to integrations with other internal systems
- Integrating and automating the program security posture and accounting
- Developing and automating repeatable tasks through use of scripting languages and vendor APIs
- Working with development and infrastructure to ensure processes and procedures are put in place for the automation of deployment and validation of releases
- Tracking emerging technologies; evaluating their applicability to DevSecOps goals and operation requirements
- Knowledge of continuous delivery, testing, security practices, performance and disaster recovery
- Capable in debugging through a pipeline and system issues, skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, spotting anomalous system behavior, and figuring out root cause of issues in the pipeline and systems
- Collaborate across teams to consolidate and simplify DevOps tools and services, then support other infrastructure engineers using them
- Role requires converge on multiple verticals which will require individuals to competently communicate and interact with various teams. Ability to clearly communicate is critical for this role.
- Much of the work will require the ability to gain a deep understanding of variety of concepts and how they relate and impact relevant domains
- Experience with containerization strategies in support of CI/CD pipeline stage execution, and DevSecOps support tooling deployments
- Preferred experience building and supporting code from different stacks, with Python, Java, and Javascript languages preferred
- Experience working with container run time technologies
- Affinity towards open-source software, open-source licensing and use cases over standard commercially available applications to solve difficult technical issues as they relate to business needs
- Must be able to interface with Program Managers/Owners and developers to understand what is being attempted, what the parameters are and work towards the goal both independently and in a team setting
- Must have the ability to deploy new technologies and educate others on their use and get them integrated into workflows
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen in order to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field) or equivalent related work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in DevOps.
- Building, testing, and administering Container Orchestration Platform clusters
- Knowledge of CI/CD tooling, source code repositories, pipeline automation, Artifact managers, Artifactory and comparable substitutes
- Knowledge of container orchestration platforms ( ex: Kubernetes, OKD)
- Understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and common web technologies (HTTP, CDN(s), Nginx)
- Hands-on experience supporting/developing cloud enterprise technology and infrastructure in a vendor agnostic cloud native environment
- Experience with automation or development in Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy, Helm, C or equivalent
- Monitoring container, hardware, and VM metrics for the purposes of maintaining cluster health and identifying thresholds for scaling
- Experience with production support experience in Linux environments
- Experience with configuration management tooling such as Ansible or Puppet
- Demonstrated skill with at least one or more configuration management/scripting technology (such as Ansible/Chef/Puppet)
- Experience working with RedHat Openshift Infrastructure design, deployment and operational support
- Able to address security vulnerabilities through configuration and patching
- May require two or more certifications across the following technology areas or ability to attain within 6 months of hire:
- IT security
- VMWare, Cisco networking, data center, public cloud, project management, Microsoft server administration, Linux server administration, or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
