Position Summary
The Systems Administrator position offers an exceptional opportunity for a driven candidate eager to directly influence operations and power generation while acquiring new technical skills. We seek a self-motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual who exudes confidence, connects easily with others, and thrives on delivering meaningful results.
In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience with network architecture, cybersecurity, system implementation, and the monitoring and support of both corporate and power plant environments. You’ll also maintain and enhance existing enterprise hardware and software while providing escalated support for helpdesk operations, making a tangible difference in a dynamic, mission-critical setting.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, maintenance, configuration, and reliability for computers systems, network servers, storage, and virtualization
- Installation and upgrading of computer components and software
- Manages and configures patching for client devices, servers, and IT infrastructure to ensure security and system integrity
- Integration and process automation
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud-hosted platforms to manage users, services, MDM, and infrastructure
- Provide advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software
- Create planning, documentation, and technical specifications for implementing and upgrading IT infrastructure
- Manage backups, data protection, disaster recovery, and failover operations
- Lead desktop and help desk advanced support efforts, resolving issues timely and in a customer-focused fashion
- Oversee capacity planning, storage allocation, and database performance optimization to ensure system efficiency
- Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements
- Administers physical access control and camera systems
- Collaborate extensively with Operating Technology (OT), Cybersecurity, and Development teams to align system functionality with security protocols and operational goals
- Provide remote and onsite support for infrastructure upgrades, routine maintenance, and system failure resolution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or a closely related field with 2+ years of Systems Administration experience, or 4+ years of Systems Administration experience
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft systems, software, hardware, networking protocols, design, and topology
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- Candidate must also pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Desired Qualifications
- System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft or other network related fields is a plus
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of implementing IT strategy and plans
- Domain administration experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Certificate management is a plus
- Email administration, spam filtration, and Microsoft Exchange experience is a plus
- Cloud Experience in Azure, AWS, Office 365 and Exchange Online is a plus
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
