Join Our Team as a System Administrator!
Reporting to the VP of IT, the System Administrator is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure and operations to support the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves supporting end-users, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, and driving technological innovations to enhance member and employee experience and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Configure and maintain VMware virtual server/desktop environment.
- Maintain comprehensive procedures and documentation.
- Manage helpdesk and provide end-user support. Support all users with problems related to maintaining their logins, software applications, and hardware failure.
- Perform server administration tasks (i.e., updates, user/group configuration, security permissions, group policies, print services, etc.), research event-log warnings and errors, and monitor resources to ensure seamless system performance.
- Troubleshoot issues and address root causes to improve efficiency and end-user experience.
- Configure new user accounts and conduct new-hire technical orientations.
- Lead strategic initiatives pertaining to processes and systems in the department.
- Maintain on-site server room infrastructure (i.e., power, cooling, cabling, etc.)
- Maintain and verify adequate backups of system data and network configurations.
Other Responsibilities Include
- Collaborate with department leaders on process enhancements and technical troubleshooting.
- Maintain vendor relationships that present Direct in the best possible light.
- Assist IT team members in their operational pursuits.
What We’re Looking For
Role
We’re searching for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in computer operations and credit union/banking operating systems.
- 3 years of experience in Microsoft servers, VMware, and SQL database management.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and responding to inquiries and findings of regulators and auditors.
- Superior time management skills and attention to detail.
- A strong customer service mindset and the ability to support employees at all levels with patience and professionalism.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position that operates in a professional office environment, which may require occasional evening or weekend work to address urgent IT issues or project deadlines. A return to office may required on an as-needed basis.
